1.

A three-phase stepper motor must be capable of stepping in 10 increments.

How many poles must it have?

2.

How many pulses per second must be supplied to the control unit of the
motor of three phase and 12 poles to achieve a rotational speed of 600
r/min?

3.

Construct a table showing the mechanical step size versus number of poles
for three-phase and four-phase stepper motors.

4.

A three phase(stack) stepper motor have 12 rotor teeth. Calculate the tooth
pitch, step size and number of steps per revolution.

5.

Consider a multi-stack, multiphase variable-reluctance stepping motor with

14 poles on each of the rotor and stator stacks and three stacks with one
phase winding per stack. The motor is built suck that the stator poles of each
stack are aligned.
a. Calculate the angular displacement between the rotor stacks.
b. Determine the frequency of phase currents required to achieve a rotor
speed of 900 r/min.
