Teacher/Parent Collaboration 1(Welcoming Letter)

Dear Parents/Guardians of _______________(student name),

I hope that you have all enjoyed your summer break! I am very much so looking forward to the
new school year. I have many exciting things planed that will better your childs horizons and allow
them to think creatively, and imaginatively. My focus this school year is to help your child become the
best student they can possibly become. There are several interacting lesson that will take place and
multiple opportunities for field trips as well. Further information will be given closer to those times.
Also, in the classroom, students will be given multiple opportunities to show, perform, and demonstrate
what they have learned pertaining to a certain lesson/unit. Invitations will be sent out to you one month
in advance, two weeks in advance, a week in advance, as well as a last minute reminder the day before.
I hope that you will be able to attend all of these amazing opportunities. They will mostly be happening
during the day, so work schedules are understood, however the purpose of this is to make students
proud of their work and happy to learn, so your attendance will be greatly appreciated. Students will
also be able to bring some of their projects home with them and give to you. Your child will also have a
folder and an agenda! Be on the lookout for those, most of their homework grading comes from your
signing of their agendas. I also will write any notes about behavior, important tests, field trips, and
other communication needs. I cannot wait for the new school year to begin, I hope that you enjoy the
rest of your summer!
