ASSESSMENT

Methods used by educators to evaluate and measure the

progress and skills acquired by students
Assessment is used to measure specific elements of
learning
Assessment identifies a students weaknesses and
strengths
Two types of assessment:
formative: multiple assessments done during
the process of student learning can be formal
or informal
summative: used to evaluate student learning at
the end of a specific instructional period
These type of assessments will indicate how the
students are learning with the technology. Comparisons
can be made to previous years to identify changes.

EVALUATION
An evaluation appraises a program or person to
determine its worth. In education, a teacher,
administrator, student, or a program can be evaluated.
A good evaluation provides useful feedback throughout
the life of the program to all stakeholders.
When evaluating, data is gathered and analyzed for
decision making and accountability.
Two types of evaluation:
formative: done to improve or change a
program while it is in progress
summative: focuses on the result or outcome
These types of evaluation will be used during the
professional development process to assess and
improve on the use of technology on a daily basis.
