I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Lauren Kryfko. She is a very
worthy candidate for a teaching position in the visual arts. I was Laurens mentor teacher
for her elementary rotation.
During Laurens student teaching experience, she was highly motivated to learn as much
as she could and perform to her best capacities. She frequently put in long hours to
develop lesson plans and monitor student progress. She asked for feedback on a daily
basis and accepted constructive criticism with maturity.
Lauren has many strengths, but, from my observations, she excels most at motivating
students. She was sincerely interested in their progress and presented new material in a
way that captured their attention. Lauren consistently displayed creativity in planning
lessons and motivating students. She was quick to learn that the best way to manage a
classroom is to keep students on-task with projects that are both interesting and
challenging. She also did a good job of recognizing when a student needed special
assistance or attention.
In summary, Lauren displayed the qualities that make a teacher successful. She is
dependable, motivated, and is in tune with the needs of her students. She works well with
colleagues and administration and is able to learn from those around her. I highly
recommend her for a teaching position in the visual arts.
