Brief Description of Evidence:

In the fall of 2014, I started completing my ECED classes as well as learning to put together
lesson plans. I created a science lesson plan that shows the growth of a plant and what plants
need to grow.

Analysis of What I Learned:

After I completed my lesson plan and got it back, I realized my lesson plans need more detail. I
have to be prepared for any obstacle we are faced with, know what is covered in that lesson plan
and be able to explain to the children what is happening if they have questions. Lesson plans are
never set in stone, but having them prepared for a quick outline is important for structure.

How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the NAEYC Standard:

This lesson plan shows that I can put something age appropriate together for my students that
uses different learning techniques. I am able to modify each lesson plan if necessary to make it
the best possible lesson for the children. Also, having more than one lesson plan for each is
helpful in case I see that one lesson plan is not working, having options is crucial.
