In December we are participating in the North County Community Food Bank.
Students are being asked to bring nonperishable food items to help families in
need in our area. Our goal is to bring 2,000 food items. Lets reach our goal!
Glenwood would not be the school it is without the parent and community

We request that your students come to school dressed for the weather.
Winter coats will help keep the chill out, better than a sweatshirt by itself.
Hats and gloves are also important for these cold days. Whenever
possible, students will go outside for some fresh air during recess.
Please be sure they leave home with their warm winter clothes, and
please write your childs name in their coat.
If you are not receiving the phone calls for inclement weather or
school news, please inform the school office so we can correct your
phone number in the system.
Please take a moment to visit our website (http://gwh.battlegroundps.org)
to review our plans in the event of school closures, late starts, and buses
on snow routes.

Lost & Found

MobyMax
is here!!

Chronicle

Our lost and (usually not)

found
collection
is
growing!
We make
every effort to remind
students to get their
clothing
from
the
playground,
cafeteria,
and PE, but we still have
a great deal of unclaimed
items.

We are excited to implement a new web-based curriculum called MobyMax

in our classrooms. MobyMax is tailored to your childs individual needs.
Your child can access MobyMax from your home computer at any time.
Please check with your childs teacher for log in directions. Another
important feature is you can sign in as a parent. You will be able to monitor
your childs progress and even send messages to your childs teacher. We
hope you are impressed by how fast your child will excel while using
MobyMax.

Dont forget students have

the opportunity to memorize
a poem this month. Mrs.
Brisbois has given students
a new poem. The poem is
called: Things by Eloise
Greenfield. Students have
already started reciting this
poem. We would love to
hear students reciting the
poem in Cubby Club too!

We are excited to
announce the mural
from Mrs. Solbergs
class will be displayed
at Winter Wonderland
at Portland International
Raceway. Dont forget
to vote. If Mrs.
Solbergs class is the
winner the winnings
would go to Mrs.
Feuchts art classes. All
of our students are
winners!

One School, One Book, Every Home

Our yearly all school reading activity is coming to Glenwood this February.
This will be our 6th year of a shared reading of one book with the whole
school community. For those of you who might not know, One School, One
Book, Every Home is an event where every family at Glenwood receives a
free book, (provided by our PTO and monies from our Book Fair). Then
each day for one month we read it together as a school/home community. A
reading schedule is provided as well as tips on how to engage your family in
this reading event. When students come to school everyone teachers,
principals and all support staff will be reading the same book and sharing
what they read. So get ready to go on a Miraculous Reading Journey
starting in February. We will announce this years title during our Cubby
Club the first week in February.
