Principles Addressed:
1. Multimedia Principle- Deeper meaning is constructed from pictures
and words that from words alone.
2. Modality Principle- Narration is used in place of on screen text.
3. Redundancy Principle- When narration is present, on screen text is
absent, lacking redundancy.
4. Spatial Contiguity Principle- Text is near picture representations.
5. Temporal Contiguity Principle- Pictures and text are synchronized
(happen at the same time, or simultaneously).
6. Extraneous Sounds, Pictures, Etc.- Unnecessary pictures, sounds, or
text is not present. Presentation is focused and represents only the
core message.
7. Interactivity Principle- Viewer has the ability to control the
presentation rate (pause, go back, play, etc.)
8. Signaling Principle- Words or narration includes cues letting the
viewer know what is coming up next.
9. Segmenting Principle- Content is chunked into sections or segments.
10. Pre-Teaching Principle- Some form of pre-teaching or background
information is available.
11. Personalization Principle- Narration is presented in a conversational
style.
12. Voice Principle- Narrators voice is human with a standard accent.
13. Image Principle- Speakers image is not present throughout
presentation.
