Working Title- Trick or Treat
Brief Synopsis of story:
Trick or Treat is based on a woman called Lauren who comes back from work on the night of
Halloween. She goes to a party with her partner then finds herself in some trouble, she ends
up killing her Boyfriend however, and the killing was within a dream. Before she wakes up,
noticing shes in a dream, she turns to her Boyfriend to find out what had happened but
then she sees the killing she had carried out on him. Once she realises its a dream within a
dream she wakes up with a bloody knife in her hand wondering what she must have done
during the scary knight of Halloween.

Brief Intro to Key character

In the story there is,

Narrator/Lauren - Is an Assistant Manager who finishes work on a cold misty night,

shes is black female with long black hair. She has a happy, jumpy personality
however, she is very paranoid with her looks and appearance
Adam has a very secretive personality, keeping everything between him and his
partner Lauren although, he has a funny personality with great communication skills.
He is only really comfortable around Lauren as they have known each other for a
decade of their lives.

Act 1- Beginning (Disequilibrium)

Right at the beginning of the film we see the ending where Adam (Laurens Boyfriend) about
to kiss with a Two Shot Close Up, Once he had been stabbed with the knife, the audience
watching are unaware of what is happening and why Adam had been stabbed.
In the next scene we see Lauren coming back from work then checking her calendar then
crossing of the 31st of October and over the shoulder shot so the audience see the day and
what could possibly happened in the duration of the short film which will end with Adam
Dying.

Act 2 Middle (Equilibrium)

Once Lauren is ready for the party she heads out in her costume with her partner Adam, she
feels cautious as they had out on their way to the party, everything thing makes her jump
but then she tries to calm herself down, enjoying the night ahead. The couple try to take a
shortcut through the woods as she has calmed down which was a bad idea. They go through
the wood together but Adam tries to surprise Lauren by spooking her, he jumps out and says
Trick or Treat however, by the time he reaches her, Lauren stabs hi9m in the kidney.

Act 3 End (Resolution)

Lauren then wakes up from the nightmare wondering what had went on, as she panics in bed,
breathing heavily and also in a state of shook. All at the same time she finds a bloody knife in her
hand which she used to murder her Boyfriend, Adam. Lying in pool of blood on the bed she tries to
wake him up, she screams then we go into a blackout.

INT. FORREST #1
- MUSIC (1) PLAYED THROUGHOUT THE BEGINNING (Bright, sunny day)
(Two Shot of Adam close up against Lauran.)
Lauran:
(Softly and slowly) Trick or treat (Pause) baby.
Montage of Adam and Lauran together as a couple
-Montage fades into- Title screen-Establishing/Master Shot-

INT. HOUSE #2- DAY

Adam (Thoughts):
Long day at work, yet again. Damn, boss always tryna start trouble and get
me fired. Good thing that I have that Halloween party later on to relax myself.
But (emphasis and prolong)
I think I may need a nap
Nope! I need to get my costume ready first.
Adam takes off his blazer jacket, crosses out the date on his calendar
(Adam starts off looking for clothes in his cupboard (Slowly at first) then starts taking
clothes out to match different.)
(Finds old Halloween costumes)
(Adam tries on the outfit.)
Adam:
Ah man! What no knife?! Lauran has properly been messing with it again, (Starts
going to the kitchen to find a knife) her and her damn pranks and drunken jokes. Cant
wear a costume like this with no knife! Let me go borrow one from the kitchen. (While
grabbing a big knife slowly)
Adam heads back up to his bed room and continues messing around in his outfit.

(Camera now focuses on clock to show time Adam falling to time she wakes up- represent
that she did fall asleep)
Alarm goes off and Adam snoozes it
(Wakes up 30minutes later)
Adam:

(Yawn) Woahhhhh! (Stretching out) I neeeeeeeeded that!

(Checks phone) 30 minutes extra?!... Well you know what they say better late
than never mate, and imma be onnnn point! Shooo
(Pose in the mirror)
Adam gets dressed and ready for the Halloween party later on.

Ext. House
Int. Street

(Mid-way to party).

Adam:
Oh! I wonder if Lauran is going. (Reaches to grab phone, realises he left it behind)
damnn! Left my phone at home bruv. (Looks Back) No point going back now, just hope
shes gonna to be there to be honest.
Montage of images of Adam and Adam together, showing them as a couple.
Adam now comes face to face with a forest and beings to wonder
Adam (Thoughts):
Seeing as Im here, might as well take a shortcut Im pretty sure this is the way
anyways. (In a Joking Manner) Luckily No worries, got that knife right, might havta slice!
(Takes knife out in a heroic way)
Adam enters the forest/shortcut. As she reaches the entrance into the
shortcut/forest, she is jumped by Adam, his Girlfriend.
Enter. Lauran

Jumps Adam and scares him.

Lauran:
Boo! (Moment dies down. Slight Pause)
Overall shot of the two close together, almost kissing
Lauran:
(Softly and slowly) Trick or treat (Pause) baby.
Camera slowly moves between Adams facial expressions to Adams.

Then slowly moves down to show a knife pierced through Adams sides, and Adams hand
holding the knife, shaking.
(Cut-to bedroom scene)
Adam wakes up, shocked and scared. Breathing heavily.
Adam looking surprised and shocked, he slowly turns his head and raises his arm to show
himself holding a knife with blood on it.
