MINUTES OF THE EMERGENCY MEETING OF MUNICIPAL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION MANAGEMENT COUNCIL
IN PREPARATION FOR THE COMING TYPHOON RUBY OF LGU - ENRIQUE VILLANUEVA, SIQUIJOR, HELD AT
THE OFFICE OF THE MUNICIPAL MAYOR ON DECEMBER 3, 2014. TIME STARTED 4:00 P.M. AND TIME ENDED
6:00 P.M.

DSWD being the lead office for the Preparedness & Relief Committee headed by Ms. Marites P.
Mate informed that there are already food items available in the office ready for packing. These food
items are 50 sacks of rice, 35 boxes of sardines, and 100 boxes of assorted goods (noodles and coffee).
According to her, all Day Care Workers will assist every barangay for relief operations and activate
BDRRMC for assistance in the said operation.
The assigned evacuation centers are the schools, day care centers, chapel & barangay hall.
All coastal residential areas that are prone to storm surge and hilly residential areas that are prone to
flooding and landslide, are advised to force evacuate to the assigned evacuation centers for safety
measures.
With regards to health committee, medicines and vehicles (ambulance and double cab) as
well as the drivers are already prepared and ready for operation according to SB Member on Health
Porferio C. Inguito.
Clearing & Search Committee as well as Response & Recovery Committee headed by the PNP
Officials and Barangay Officials suggested complete facilities and provide fuel for transportation for use
in the operation. SB Member Porferio Achay suggested the Barangay Captains & Officials to advise all
residents to prepare for the calamities occurred and suggested to focus for prevention and mitigation
for the coming typhoon.
As emphasized by Ms. Marites P. Mate, DRRM Officer, the following are the important matters to
do in preparation for the calamities; 1) prepare emergency kit, 2) prepare food and water, 3) prepare
flashlights and other protected gears like raincoat, 4) evacuate. Partial reporting should immediately
be relayed for proper reporting.
