The Assignment:

For each main character, you will be writing at least a ONE PAGE journal entry from the point of
view of the character. You may choose any event to use for the topic of the journal entry, and
each entry can be a different event from the novel, but the entry must be written from only one
characters point of view, which will be the character writing the journal entry. The language you
use can be modern, but must be school appropriate (ie. no derogatory language). You may
work with a partner, or on your own, the choice is yours!
Examples:
Entry One: Nick Carraway
Topic: Moving to West Egg
Entry Two: Tom Buchanan
Topic: Receiving the phone call from Myrtle Wilson with Daisy, Jordan, and
Nick present.
Requirements:
One-page or longer journal entry for each of the main characters
Seven total: Nick Carraway, Daisy Buchanan, Tom Buchanan, Myrtle Wilson,
George Wilson, Jay Gatsby, Jordan Baker.
Each entry must be written from the characters point-of-view.
Use I when writing the entry.
Each entry must begin with Dear Diary or Dear Journal.
Each entry must be signed by the character to establish who is writing the entry.
