Year 8&9 Boys Basketball - The

Richmond Borough Tournament took
place last week at Twickenham
Academy. The boys finished 4th overall,
only missing out on a top 3 place as they
suffered an opening match loss at the hands of
Orleans Park. Well done boys.
Well done to all of the athletes who took part in the
cross country race last Friday.

Christmas Diary Dates

The whole of Year 7 were lucky enough to attend a
Midsummer Nights Dream Shakespeare Live workshop
run by The Orange Tree Theatre this week. This magical
comedy was brought to life in a 90 minute production for
Key Stage 3. The aim was to help the pupils understand
Shakespeare as well as take part in the creation of his
world. The students really enjoyed it, and the teachers
were enthusiastic, saying the play was very entertaining,
lots of humour - its always good to see the children
laughing a lot. It was very accessible and helpful to their
general understanding of the play.

The Production Designer for the TV

adaptation of Birdsong, Grant Montgomery,
came in this week to discuss his work with AS
Level students who are
studying the novel. It was a
fascinating insight into the
process of finding the right
locations, props and
costumes, within a budget,
to meet the demands of a
script.
