To Whom It May Concern: It is with great pleasure that I write to recommend Ana Hernandez. I have known Ana since September, 2012 when she became a student in my technology class and a valuable member of Foshays Technology Academy. She speaks her mind, is naturally curious, and proven to be reliable. Ana is a natural leader both in the classroom, on the school Robotics team and on the soccer field. Ana has also worked hard to improve her technological literacy. During her time in the Tech Academy, Ana has created original websites using online Content Management Systems and Dreamweaver CS5, has taught herself advanced skills using Photoshop and Scratch, and made mobile apps for Android Tablets. Ana has also been able to create applications using Ruby on Rails during her summer internship at Southern California Public Radio Station focusing on web design. You can see an example of Anas work on her online professional digital portfolio and Github page. http://anahernandez292.wix.com/ahernanportfolio Ana demonstrates that she is able to manage her time wisely and achieve all of her academic responsibilities, and still have time for extracurricular activities. An example of this is her participation in the schools varsity soccer team, the schools robotics team, and the MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) club since 9th grade. Ana has also participated in the Academic Decathlon team on the honors division. She has been able to gain leadership positions in these extracurricular activities, which has helped her apply and win the 2014 NCWIT Aspirations award as a Southern California winner and National runner-up. Ana is also a strong public speaker and has spoken at various events focusing on STEM, which is why I invited her to come and speak with me at Apples headquarters during their Diversity week. Ana is someone I highly recommend. She has great potential and I look forward to seeing where her goals and aspirations take her. Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding Ana Hernandez at 323.373.2700.
Sincerely, Leslie Aaronson Lead Technology Teacher
