Title of Lesson: Guessing what food it is

Targeted Domain: Cognitive

Learning Center: Table games


Age of Child (ren): 4 -5 years

Goal:
Enhance touch and tasting senses
Objective:
Children will practice touch and tasting sense while they touch and taste
The food that the teacher will give them.
Transition Plan
Read the book: My Five Senses, Touch.
Procedure
Explain children that their eyes will be cover to try to guess what food they
have in their hands.
Give the food to children, let them touch the food first then tell them to
eat it. Finally ask them if they know what food they ate.
Advanced Preparation:
Peal the orange
Place food on different plates
List Materials:
Grapes, oranges wedges, apple, chocolate, a scarf, plastic plates.
Developmental Benefits:
Children will develop cognitive skill while they are touching the food and
thinking what it is.
Children will enhance language domain while they are describing the
texture of the food and later when they describe that flavor of the food.
Future Plans:
This activity can be made using the sense of smelling
