    Learning Center: Childrens Home + Aid


    Age of Child (ren): 3-5

    Goal: To teach children the environment and shelter jungle animals live in

    Objective: Children will use blocks to build huts and shelters for jungle animals

    Transition Plan: Teacher will sing I went to the jungle one day

    Procedure: Teacher will decorate the block area with pictures of jungle animals in a jungle
    theme. Children will use blocks to build huts and shelters for people or animals in the jungle,
    toy jungle animals will also be added

    Advanced Preparation: Teacher will set up jungle theme in the block area, and read
    book to children

    List Materials: Pictures of jungle animals, welcome to the jungle banner, blocks, toy people,
    fabric, and jungle animals

    Developmental Benefits: small motor, construction play, social, science, and cognitive

    Future Plans: Children will draw the habitat of a jungle animal they choose
