children will write a short poem

Transition Plan
During circle time teacher will read the children a poem

Procedure
After reading poem. Teacher will pass out some paper. Children will be creative and draw a
picture of themselves. After they have drawn a picture of them the children will write one or two
sentences about them

Advanced Preparation:
Bring a poem to class

List Materials:
A poem
Paper
Pencils
Markers
Crayons
Colored pencils

Developmental Benefits:
Children will build self esteem, encourage handwriting, and language develpoment

Future Plans:
Children will continue practicing handwriting by making two sentences or more
