Instrument Repair Budget Proposal

The table below is an example of pricing for four different levels of repair, proposed
for all members of a 50-piece ensemble. Not every individual will need repairs, but
many will, and the level of repair required will differ between students and
instruments. Woodwinds have many minute components, and frequently need
attention to keys and pads. The Muncie Music pricing estimates $25-105 for each
of these small fixes, depending on the specific problem. Brass instruments are less
finicky, but cleaning and dent-removal is essential to the life of the instrument. I
have based these prices off of Bridgepoint Musics website. All of these semiregular needs fall under the third column price column in the chart below.
Percussion is often less of a matter of repairing damage and more a matter of
replacing broken or dead components. Because replacement is the only manner of
repair, I have budgeted more towards the third and fourth columns based off of
Steve Weiss Music pricings, anticipating needed parts.
