Name of Artifact: Productivity and Academic Software Blog

Date: November 2014
Course: EDUC 201: Using Computers in Education

Brief Description: In this assignment I blogged about different advantages of

productivity and academic software. I mentioned different kinds of programs that
can be used to create various documents for teachers to use, or students as well.
Rationale: To demonstrate my understanding of Standard One: Facilitate and
Inspire Student Learning and Creativity, I have chosen to include my assignment
Productivity and Academic Software Blog. This assignment lists many different
programs that can be used for teachers to create documents that may be posted for
students to see, or to even create newsletters to be sent home to parents. It also
gives examples of programs that students can use with templates that are already
provided which students can use to complete assignments. With templates,
students can display their creativity and individuality through editing the template
in color, layout, and font to show their knowledge of the program and promote
exploration to further their knowledge. To create this blog assignment, I used
Microsoft Word. This assignment facilitates and inspires student learning because
it explains the many different programs which can be used, as well as ways to use
these programs to express ones own creativity in the appearance and layout.
