Technology is of the utmost importance in any civilization. Technology includes any type
of tools used to help perform a task or process more quickly and efficiently. I think that
technology is extremely important and vital to any civilization so that it may advance and
operate more successfully.
Mace Head The Mace Head was used from 2700 BCE to 2600 BCE. This was swung
at the enemy and hit the enemy, causing injuries. This is considered technology because,
at that time, it was a new way to fight in combat, making combat easier.
Axe Head Used from 2350-2150 BCE. The axe head could be used as either a tool or
weapon. This artifact is an example of important technology for the time, because of the fact that
it took a skilled workman to make it and it was a new way to either go about a
task or go into battle.
Spindle Whorl Used from 2900-2600 BCE, this was used to make fabric.
From the exquisite linens used by nobility in Egypt, to the
rough cloth used by more average Egyptians, people have
always had to cloth themselves somehow. To make fabric is a
complicated process, and the Spindle Whorl was a revolutionary piece of
technology that made one process easier.
Stamp Seal Used from 600-500 BCE, this was used by pressing clay into a mold, thus forming
an object. As seen in the Egyptian and Indus Valley civilizations, the
people built many objects like statues of the gods they worshipped. The
Stamp Seal would have made this process easier by creating one mold
then making many copies of the same thing, instead of the arduous
process of sculpting each new statue by hand.

Spear Shaft Terminal Used in 900 BCE. This artifact was used when using
spears in either target practice or in combat. It increased ones accuracy when
using a spear. This is an important piece of technology because it showed the
advancement of the military and how they went to war. It shows that the
military wasnt barbaric and wanted to advance how they fought.
Vessel Used in 400 BCE. A vessel was used to store liquids, but this
type of vessel was created by making multiple pieces and then brazing
them together. This was advancement in technology because of how it
was made. Instead of molding only one piece, multiple pieces were
made, proving that the craftsman could make other objects using the
same method.
