Unit 3 Week 2 / Unidad 3 Semana 2
Literature / Literatura
Students will review the characteristics of a fiction/nonfiction
text and decide what THEME the text describes:
Patience/Love/Courage/Acceptance/Friendship. They will
also answer comprehension questions and use the text to
reference their answers. Los estudiantes repasaran las
caricaristicas de textos de ficcin/no ficcin decidiendo cual
caricaristica nos describe el TEMA del libro:
paciencia/amor/valenta/aceptacin/amistad. Tambin
usaran el texto para dar respuestas a preguntas sobre el
libro.

Math / Matemticas
Students will explain addition of doubles and doubles plus
one. EX: Doubles (4+4=8), Doubles plus one 8 (4+4) + 1 =
9 Students will also work with addition and subtraction of
multiples of 10 using place value.

Writing / Escritura
Students will be introduced to opinion writing using fact and
opinions. Los estudiantes estarn usando hechos y
opiniones para escribir un papel de opinin.

PHONICS / FONETICA
English: Vowel pattens nk, -ng, Compound Words
EX: thank, swing, football
Espaol: Silabas con y, conjuncin y, silabas con h
Ej. Hojas, yema, sal y pimienta

December 10 Pictures with Santa.


December 11th Leadership Assembly Begins at 12:30 in the cafeteria. Parents are Invited
to Attend!
December 12th is the NEW date for Christmas lunch.
December 15 & 16 Barnes and Noble Book Fair for Monte Vista from 5 to 8pm at the
Mesilla Valley Mall. First and fourth graders have been invited to sing on the 15th. Monte
Vista Leadership students will be reading to customers and children who visit Barnes and
Noble on December 16th. Barnes and Noble will have a table set up where our Monte Vista
Staff will be handing out bookmarks and vouchers. The vouchers can be turned in and
Monte Vista will receive a portion of the proceeds.
