December 8 and 9 - Jules Janick will attend a History and Plant Sciences: Interdisciplinary Approaches
Workshop in Angers France and will present two papers: Historical sources and plant genetics: The case
of eggplant (with Marie-Christine Daunay and H.S. Paris) and Deciphering the Voynich manuscript:
Plants as the Rosetta Stone with Arthur O. Tucker. On December 10 he will present a paper at the Cluny
Museum in Paris entitled Unicorns: Tapestries, History, Mystery, Horticulture.

Turf Herbicide Workshops Aaron Patton
This one day workshop is designed for beginners and for more experienced professionals who want
more information on herbicide use principles and discussion of how to control the most common weeds
in turf. This workshop offers training in weed identification, integrated weed management, herbicide
mode of action, and weed control principles. The workshop is typically held in two to three locations
across Indiana annually.
December 12. The Indiana Vegetable Growers Association Board and Officers will meet on association
business in HORT 222. HLA Faculty and Staff who wish to meet the group should contact Liz Maynard,
