Conclusion
There are many aspects of the enforcements systems in
Malaysia need to be reviewed and improved in order to
protect and conserve the sea cucumber.
The enforcement agencies like Department of Fisheries
and also local and state governments need to play an
active role in ensuring the public would be aware about
the issue of the extinction of certain species of sea
cucumber in Langkawi. Community awareness and
education program will not be effective without the
participation from the public as a whole.
Thus, it is highly dependent on the local authorities,
enforcement agencies and also local government to plan
and execute a solution to overcome the issue of
depletion of sea cucumber in Langkawi.
