Gray Cline became the first full bloodline legacy in the history of the Mu Tau chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity at James Madison University (JMU) by pledging this semester. His father, Sparky Cline, was an active member of the same TKE chapter from 1978 to 1981. Connor Archibald, the Public Relations Director of TKE, wrote to the Life Editor of The Breeze newspaper to pitch a personality profile story on Gray and his father, describing their story of perseverance through hardship as single parents growing up in the Shenandoah Valley as worth running in the Life section.

Lauren Hunt Life Editor The Breeze Harrisonburg, VA 22807
Dear Ms. Hunt,
This semester, a freshman student here at James Madison University decided to join the men of the Mu Tau chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon and write the next chapter of a story 35 years in the making. On September 10th, 2014, Gray Cline entered into pledgeship with the fraternity and became the first full bloodline legacy in TKE history at JMU. His father, Sparky Cline, was an active member of the Mu Tau chapter of TKE here at JMU from 1978 to 1981. Before this semester, there have been no father-son legacy bloodlines in this chapter of the fraternity. Born and raised right here in the Shenandoah Valley, Gray and his father experienced hardship and loss as a single-parent family, and their story is one of true perseverance and character. I have developed a personality profile feature on Gray and his father that is without a doubt worth running in your next edition of The Breeze, and I feel it will fit perfectly in your Life section. Attached is the aforementioned feature story. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at (240) 446-7643 or via email at archibcm@dukes.jmu.edu. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely,
Connor Archibald Connor Archibald Public Relations Director Tau Kappa Epsilon archibcm@dukes.jmu.edu
