Opening/Framing the Lesson/Introduction/Early Assessment
Students have been introduced to rhyming. They are doing well
with identifying rhyming words in text when read out loud.
Teacher will read Is Your Mama a Llama by Deborah Guarino out
loud to the class.

The Lesson Structure: Activities

Once students have heard the story they will discuss what
words they heard in the story that were rhyming. The teacher
will write the words on the board. Students will then get in
groups and each group will get an iPad. Using the QR reader
scanner, a student from each group will scan the tab taped to
the white board so they are all on the same site. Students will
then enter AnswerGarden site. In the site they will all see a key
word at the top of the page that they will as a group have to
come up with words that rhyme to this new word. All the answer
that the students enter will be seen by the students and
teacher. Students will also write down the rhyme word they
used in the activity.
Closing/Assessment
Over the projection screen teacher will go over all entries with
students to confirm or discuss words entered that rhyme with
the activity word.
