Program Manager: Halloween Parade and Party
Fall 2014
Serve as program manager of the annual Halloween Parade and Party for the City of
Frostburg and responsibilities included working with Recreation Director, classmates,
and leadership class to create, prepare, and conduct the event.
Responsible for working with Recreation Director on facility access, reservations, risk
management, budget implementation, marketing, and personnel.
Responsible for direct leadership and supervision of 17 student, delegation of work,
monitoring work progress, identifying solutions to problems and maintaining
communication with Recreation Director and faculty.
Canoe Slalom World Championships
Responsible for receiving and distribution judges score cards throughout competition
while working as a score runner.
Coordinated with other score runners to ensure all cards were verified and accounted for.
Provided exceptional hospitality to all athletes, spectators, and family from all over the
world.

Summer 2014
Assisted in a seven week rebuild project to help the local community recover from
hurricane sandy.
Responsible for supervising, managing and training volunteer groups from across the
country.
Attended the annual AmeriCorps training seminar at Rutgers University.
Assisted in the process of chartering a new student Lions Club as a founding member.
Coordinated with the student civil engagement department in planning, coordinating, and
implementing the clubs initiation event.

Responsible for overseeing order during club meetings and providing additional

Assessed a local community playground using the NRPA Dirty Dozen assessment
guidelines.
Preformed an on-site inspection to decide what areas within the guidelines were
insufficient.
Prepared a written report noting all elements in the Dirty Dozen checklist that needed
correcting which was submitted to city officials for review.

Coordinated with a program team to plan, implement, and conduct the annual Halloween
Parade and Party for the City of Frostburg which was attended by over 500 children and
adults were in attendance.
Designed a floor plan laying out the area to attempt to maximize available space which
including a haunted house, games, pumpkin decorating, and refreshment areas.
Responsible for setting up, running activities, and handing out candy and prizes to the
children and assisted with ensuring that people were able to smoothly transition from
station to station to participate in a diverse group of activities.

Summer 2014
Assisted camp directors to ensure all campers checked-in and all necessary paper work
was updated and accurate.
Responsible for creating, preparing, and supervising daily activities, contests, and skills
assessments of campers which included risk management, participant supervision,
securing supplies and equipment and providing direct leadership. Program activities such
as dodgeball, capture the flag, and a homemade water slide were planned and supervised

supervision throughout the residential experience for campers within my cabin.
Fall 2013
Responsible for enforcing all rules and regulations set up by the university during school
sponsored activities such as basketball, flag football, handball, and indoor soccer.
Coordinated with the head of the athletic department to write weekly schedules for
referees.
Assisted in the training process of student referees were knowledgeable of the rules and
regulations for the various sports.
