Famous People
Some famous people from Spain include Pablo Picasso. Picasso was famous
for being a painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, stage designer, poet, and
playwright. He was born on October 25, 1881 in Malaga, Spain. He died April 8,
1973 in Mougins, France.
Another famous Spaniard is Glenn Thomas Jacobs, or also known as Kane in
the WWE for playing the role of Kane. He was born April 26,1967.

Famous Tourist Destinations

One of the most famous tourist destinations in Spain is the Running of the Bulls. San
Fermin. The fiestas of San Fermin are celebrated in Irunea/Pamplona, in the region of
Navarra, every year from the 6th to the 14th of July. They have become internationally
known because of the running of the bulls, where the bulls are lead through the streets of
the old quarter as far as the bull ring by runners. These are famous because the
adrenaline rush, and laughing at other people getting hurt. But seriously, I personally
wouldn't advise this unless you want a bulls horn piercing your body.

Another famous tourist attraction is Sagrada Familia. The Sagrada Familia is a huge
Roman Catholic Church in Barcelona. Its architect was Antoni Gaudi, who worked on this
church for 40 years until his death in 1926. Its construction began in 1882 and its still
unfinished.

Typical Foods
One typical food of Spain is a fried lamb or goat
meat along with olive oil, garlic, vinegar, basil,
rosemary, bay leaves, and spearmint.
Another typical dish is poached or fried fish.

Dress Code
Teenage girls tend to wear trousers more than skirts.
Teenage boys are keen on designer wear and appearance is important to
them.
Older men in particular tend to wear high quality clothing.
You should be careful of dress code if entering churches. Swimwear and short
skirts are frowned upon.
When youre visiting the cities, you might not want to look like a tourist. Dress
conservatively.

Major Holidays
One important holiday is both religious and
historical. The Day of the Virgin of El Pilar and
the day which America was discovered. This
is on October 12.
Each village has its annual holiday fiesta.
These fiestas honor the Virgin Mary.

School System
In Spain, school is absolutely enforced between
the ages of six and sixteen, Schools are state
funded. Parents must pay for their kids books,
uniforms, and materials. After the required part
of school is finished, teenagers can opt out of
going to highschool. However, if a person
wants to go to a university, a high school
diploma is absolutely required.

Similarities
The school system here and in Spain, are
similar because schooling here is also required
until the age of 18, when a person becomes a
legal adult, in which they can choose what they
want to do. Schooling here is free just as in
Spain, until college, depending on your
situation.
