Dear BP:
I am writing regarding the opportunity of being a civil engineer onshore and offshore. Your
corporation has struck my interest due to the high amounts of different opportunities to excel in
the future.
A civil engineer requires an individual to have a background in different aspects of engineering
and I possess one of the most unique backgrounds as a welding engineer. I have had a vast
amount of trouble shooting and solving problems in the field on a job site and can greatly apply
those skills to a job such as an onshore and offshore engineer. As an engineer I would not only
bring the knowledge but the hands-on knowhow as well, which is most important when leading a
team of workers. At the age of 18 I became a line supervisor of a top 10 semi-trailer
manufacturer, and my lines production went up 50% in just 2 weeks. Through that experience
and other experiences in different areas of life I believe I have become a very effective leader in
any situation I am in.
I love applying my skills and knowledge every day in everything I do and would love to do so
for a corporation such as BP. I thank you for reading my letter to you and look very much
