Dec 1 Lesson Instructions

1. Have groups 1 & 2 come to a consensus about the decision


2. Groups 1 & 2 then pass on their opinions to groups 3 & 4, who also confer
3. If groups 3 and 4 agree to the opinion by consensus, they pass the opinion to group 5
4. If group 5, which has the final judgement, comes to the same consensus, then the
decision has been made
5. If group 5 doesnt come to an agreement, the process begins again with groups 1 & 2

If, after subsequent rounds, group 5 doesnt arrive at consensus, group 5 tells the
groups that they can act according to their own beliefs, as long as their decisions
dont interfere with other groups.

During the process group 6 may express its opinion to the others, but is not allowed to
take part in the consensus process. If consensus is reached, group 6 is bound to it.
Groups 1 & 2 => Mohawk & Seneca (elder brothers)
Groups 3 & 4 => Oneida & Cayuga (younger brothers)
Group 5 => Onondaga (fire keepers)
Group 6 => Tuscarora
