Observed over ten different surgeons preform more than 50 surgeries. Adopted skills such as cautious behavior, confidentiality,
organization, and obeying protocol. Surgeries included; Open Chest for the removal of lungs, gallbladder removal, breast
implants, mastectomy, reconstructive knee surgery, bunion removal, colectomy, hernia repairs (open, laparoscopically and
robotically), leg amputation, etc..

Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp

A total of 50 middle school students in grades 5, 6 and 7 with proven expertise and interest in math and science took part in a
two week session concerning the topic of Astrobiology and The Quest for Life. The students selected a planet of their choice to
research the possibility for life in our Solar System. Bernard Harris is an accomplished NASA astronaut, physician and

entrepreneur; Dr. Harris, the first African American to walk in space, plays an active role in the Summer Science Camp program
and other programs for youths.
Clubs and Activities
The following were all the clubs I was active in Shaker High School from 2010-2014.
Medical Club
Explored the various jobs the medical field had to offer. Spoke to very well-known doctors, including Dr. Patrick Timmins, about
college, and career paths. Training on CPR, and first aid for choking. Explored careers by talking to EMS, doctor, surgeons,
nurses, and physician assistants.
Student Government
Prepared Pep rallies, bake sales, school spirit week, homecoming, catwalk for a cause, parent teacher night, freshman
orientation, etc
SOS Club
Volunteered at elderly homes weekly. Supported local walks for causes by volunteering.
Muslim Student Association

Brought awareness to the real Islam. Informed high school students about Islam and the peaceful message it brought. Joined
other religious clubs, including Jewish and Christian club to help unite religions together.
Catwalk for a Cause

Latham, NY
2011-2014
Fashion show done with donated clothes to raise money for foundations, and contributions. Catwalk for a cause fundraised over
$1,000.00 for ALS, built a well in Africa to provide clean water to school children.
