Khan Academy Reflection

Khan Academy is an education supplement website used for students to

extend their knowledge on a specific subject. Khan academy has different areas of
subjects with different grade levels in each subject. Each grade has a different level
of difficulty and adds points up based on the number of questions the student
correctly guesses. It is a helpful website because it allows the students to have more
practice with an area they are struggling with. The teacher is able to see what areas
a student has trouble on and can help the student. The website is a nice additional
tool for the teachers because the students have fun with it and at the same time are
learning.
I chose to do the math subject for the grade level Kindergarten through third
grade. I chose this level because I will be teaching it, hopefully. I wanted to see what
activities there are and what the students should be learning in that grade. We were
required to get at least 30,000 points which is a good amount for us to get a feel of
what the website is like and what kind of activities there are. I learned that it is very
helpful for the students because of the activities but there are also youtube videos
and hints that are available if the student gets stuck on a question. This is helpful for
me as a teacher because it is a great website to fall back on and have the students
learn even more.
