The power entering the fluid = P x flow rate = Pump head (m) x fluid density x gravitational
acceleration x flow rate
In this case, the calculations were made based on the 'Gilles centrifugal pump' graph to
determine the flow rate, converting the values from l/min into m^3/s, as it shows below.
After the flow rate and fluid density was found, and the pump head determined from the
abstraction of pump discharge and pump suction, the power entering the fluid was
established.
