an ICC Assembly of States Parties side-event co-hosted by


the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and la Comision Mexicana de
Defensa and y Promocion de los Derechos Humanos (CMDPDH)
On October 2012 and September 2014 the FIDH, the CMDPDH along with other Mexican organizations presented two
communications to the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) of the International Criminal Court (ICC) with reliable
information on cases of murder, torture, disappearances, rape, and other severe deprivation of liberty, committed
between 2006 and 2012. With such information there is reasonable basis to believe that crimes under the ICC
jurisdiction have been committed, a preliminary examination shall be opened and it should by publicly announced by
the OTP.
