The content of those documents would imply that this quote, in that context, mean that women have

a much stricter lifestyle

than men, and that is proven by the fact that men are in charge and give out the orders. Although the woman in this era may
be CEO of the home, at work, they are under the thumb of their bosses, who will not except any deviation from their wishes,
as evidenced in those lists of regulations.

- educated (if financially able)

- able to vote, serve in public
office
- able to dress as the please
- many rights
- superior
- role to impact society

- uneducated (it would "ruin"

them for marriage and positive
influence on the home if they
had too much in their heads)
- not to be involved in politics
or government
- strict (and restricting) dress
- forfeited property rights to
husband
- inferior
- role in the kitchen

Society told them that they were responsible for encouraging moral (and
spiritual) health in their family. By indoctrinating them in discipline, they
were presumably able to pass this on to their family members. They were
pressured by the male establishment to suppress anything deviating from
expectation, which was viewed as a positive trait to be inherited by their
children.

They were populous European countries.

-freedom
-economic
oppourtunity
-land!!!

-overpopulation
-agriculture changes
-crop failure
-industrial revolution
-religious n political turmoil

It was practically nonexistent. There was likely little talk of America in those
countries, or restricted/limited oppourtunity for immigration.

None recorded. Laws

against slave trade. I
imagine Africans did not
want to live in the country
where they would be
racially suppressed and
their brethren were
enslaved. I can think of
better places to start a life.
Immigrants were mainly coming from European countries, UK and
Germany and particular, probably due to the conditions mentioned in
answer #6.
The number of people arriving had increased immensely since 1820.

Germans, because they were the largest group, an although there were
more English-speakers arriving, they would have not been as foreign to
the nativists as Germans likely were.
