Attention Step
If someone gave you access to your crushs facebook account, would you
take the chance to read the contents of his/her inbox? Or if you could, would you
hack a famous celebritys email account and leak his/her private photographs on the
internet, for everyone to see? Or if you have a boyfriend/girlfriend, would you ever
spy on them?

Clarification Step
If youve ever gossiped about someone, or quickly glanced at a document on
your classmates desk, whether you like it or not, youve definitely snooped at some
point in your life. Most of us have done these things and realize that a curiosity
about your surroundings and others is part of fundamental human nature. But while
spying has been considered to be an acceptable solution to certain problems,
snooping on someone does not only cause a buildup of guilt but could potentially
damage your health and relationships as well.

Spying can cause health problems.


A. People who spy are likely to have a heart attack.
> Fear raises blood pressure and heart rate.
B. People who spy are likely to have impaired cognitive skills.
> Fear causes the release of excess adrenaline and cortisol in your system,
obstructing blood flow to the part of the brain which is responsible for
problem solving.

Spying can cause serious psychological damage.


A. Spying causes anxiety disorders.
> Chronic worrying can lead to increased development of panic disorders.
B. Spying causes somnipathy.
> Obsessing over what you dont know will lead to loss of sleep, which can
lead to accidents or development of chronic diseases such as cancer.

III.

Spying can cause emotional damage.


A. Spying automatically forces mistrust upon a relationship.
B. Feelings of resentment arise from invasion of privacy.
