Ela Lesson Reflection
Ela Lesson Reflection
In this lesson students were developing their listening and writing skills. Students
had to summarize the basic sequence of events that occur in a text, use illustrations to
enhance comprehension and to write or draw a response to a text.
The purpose of the lesson was to help developing readers further their skills in
reading, writing, comprehension, and communication. By using essential questions that
foster higher order thinking I was able to differentiate within the students. It was also
important to model what the book was about, in order for the students to have a base on
which to scaffold the lesson material. By doing this I was able to create a text-to-self
connection by reading the poem and the story. Using the visuals and illustration in the
story also helped the readers comprehend the lesson objective successfully.
