Baseball is Americas favorite Pastime
It was the most popular sport before football
It is the 3rd most popular sport after Football and American
Football

It is fun

The Basics

Baseball consists of a batter, pitcher, and fielders.


The batter tries to hit the ball after the pitcher pitches it.
Then the batter tries to run the bases.
The fielders try to get them out.

There are positions that each player plays in the infield:
Second Baseman
Third Baseman

Catcher

There are also positions each player plays in the outfield:

Corked Bats:
Corked Bats are against the rules
They make the bat sponge-like
The bat then hits the ball harder
The bat will usually break

Troy Tulowitzki
Troy Tulowitzki is the shortstop for the Colorado Rockies.
He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 1st round of the
2005 amateur draft.

In 2014, he had 21 home runs, and 52 RBIs.


Won the Silver Slugger and the Golden Glove awards.

Todd Helton

Todd Helton was the Rockies first baseman, retired in 2013.


His number (17) was retired this last August.
Played 17-year career for the Colorado Rockies.
Drafted by Rockies in the 1st round of 1995 amateur draft.

Babe Ruth
Babe Ruth is the most recognized baseball player of all time.
Also known as The Great Bambino
Played on the Yankees, Red Sox, and
the Braves.

He is in the Hall of Fame

Oct 1, 1932. Babe Ruth, Game 3 of the World Series, called his
hit, winning the game.
Oct 15, 1988. Kirk Gibson, sick and injured, hit a game-winning
home run.
Oct 13, 1960. Bill Mazeroski hit a World Series winning home run,
earning him a place in the Hall of Fame.
