Panacea Ordered To Surrender Liquor License


December 12, 2014 Springfield, MA- The City of Springfield Board of License Commissioners (BLC)
has issued a Decision regarding a October 23, 2014 incident involving; Perez Family Restaurant, Inc.
d/b/a Panacea, please see attached business entity summary, located at 51-57 Taylor Street after failing
to show at a hearing scheduled on December 11, 2014.
The decision (see attached), issued by the BLC, stated that Violation of 204 CMR 2.05 (2) Permitting
an illegality on the licensed premises to wit: No Manager of Record Currently Working on Premises.
VIOLATION FOUND.
The decision goes on to state, After making the findings the Board voted to suspend your license
effective December 12, 2014 until such time as an application for new manager of record can be
heard and approved by the Board. Accordingly your legal right to sell alcohol has been suspended
and continuing to do so will be in violation of Massachusetts Law. All alcohol should be removed
from the premises and your license should be surrendered to the License Commission Office
Immediately.
We will continue to make sure pouring establishments are adhering to the law. We will not tolerate
establishments that ignore state law and city ordinances, stated Mayor Domenic J Sarno.
The decision and has been served by the Springfield Police Department (SPD) to the addressed
business on the afternoon of the Friday, December 12, 2014. In addition the SPD will ensure
compliance with state law.
