Adobe Illustrator vector file (.ai) with the fonts outlined in version CS4 or earlier is the ideal file both for
quality and preventing delays.
pdf file - good for viewing, most times can use depending on if it was created with Il
fonts outlined.

.eps file if created with Illustrator as above, is equally good,
{pg file - really is best only for viewing. Can be used for woven labels if it is high resolution which you should
be able to tell by how good or bad it looks on your screen. Can only use for a printed label ifit is black
‘on white and very high resolution. Will require resizing and possibly recreating,
gif file - good for viewing only, maybe good for woven if high resolution otherwise has to be recreated,
pong file - good for viewing only, maybe good for woven if high resolution otherwise has to be recreated.
psd (photoshop) file - okay for 4 colour process tags but not for labels. If customer can only work with Photoshop
ask for high res jpg as above. May have to be recreated.
tif file - same as photoshop file, generally poor quality so probably has to be recreated, ask for high res jpg.
bmp file - viewing only, usually poor quality so would have to be recreated.
xIs file - viewing only would have to be recreated,
doc file - viewing only, if just text can use if we have the fonts to match but would have to be recreated
cdr file - cannot open, must be exported to save as an ai file for Mac with text saved as curves.
rar file - cannot open
ppt file - cannot use
dlip art downloaded off the internet is never clean enough to use
