The Most Popular Films of 2014 (Top 5)

1. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

This film is an adventure/sci-fi. The film is aimed at teenagers of both genders
from 12 years and up. This is film appeals to a younger audience in comparison to
our film, which is aimed at older teenagers, 15 years and up.

2. Interstellar:
An action/sci-fi, this film technically is in the same genre as the Hunger Games,
yet both are very different films. Interstellar is a Christopher Nolan film, known
for Batman and Inception (a psycho-thriller, like our film). Interstellar is aimed at
an audience of 12 up, again, a younger audience than our film.

3. The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies.

Being an adventure/fantasy this film is very different to ours. The age of this film
is 12, another younger audience.

4. The Maze Runner:

This is an action film aimed at an audience over the age of 12. This is quite
different to our film as our film is a psycho thriller and is aimed at audiences of
15 up.

5. Exodus: Gods and Queens.

This film is an action/adventure covering the story of Moses. This film is very
different to our film, we focus around a jealous child who turns to kidnapping,
whereas this film focuses on freedom from slavery and a biblical tale. The age is
again 12.

Based upon the top 5 films (according to IMDB) our film is not a current popular genre. The
audience of today seem to enjoy action/adventures or sci-fi/fantasys. There are popular
thrillers in the film world so our film will still appeal to people, it may not be as popular as an
action film or an adventure film.
