Based on the true story staring Sandra Bullock playing Leigh Anne Tuohy, the country
singer Tim McGraw as Sean Tuohy, and Michael Oher as "Big Mike", the tear-jerking film was a
movie that no one should miss The Blind Side", I realized, wasn't just about football. It was an
eye-opening film that broadcasted the reality that not all people come from the same roots.
Michael Oher just so happened to be one of the many washed up kids from the projects. With an
absentee father and a mother dependent on drugs, Michael came up moving from couch to
couch, foster home to foster home.

Michael was accepted to Wingate Christian School in Memphis when one of his
childhood friends father goes to see about getting his son enrolled. The Head Coach "Burt"
acknowledged Michael's extraordinary sports capabilities and managed to get him enrolled. After
a couple blank test submissions, one of Michael's teachers decided to read aloud one of the tests
to him and Michael scored a C-. Not bad for someone with no prior school records really. After
Michael being enrolled for a couple of days, the Tuohy family began to recognize him. They saw
him after volleyball games, picking up the leftover popcorn in the stands. Then one very cold
night, on the Tuohy's way home, Leigh Anne "got her way" and Michael stayed the night.

Big Mike had finally caught up his grades to where he could try out for Spring Football.
Leigh Anne's son S.J helped train Michael both physically and mentally, teaching him all of the
plays even if they were with his moms spices. As Michael was succeeding in football and
managing to further his education, Leigh Anne felt it was the right thing to do to legally adopt
him. Although Michael had very few legal documents, and really no relatives to call, Leigh Anne
set out to find his real mother. After talking with his mother, Leigh Anne was able to successfully
adopt Michael.

Michael was getting daily offers from NCAA coaches, places like Arkansas, LSU, and
Tennessee. S.J would also help in this area, leading the negotiations on Michaels behalf.
Michael finally makes a decision to go to Ole Miss, where Leigh Anne was a cheerleader and
Sean had went as well. After the decision making, Michael had an interview with Investigator
Grainger who finds Michaels predicament odd. She interrogates Michael as if he did something
wrong. She believes that Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy are using him to benefit their alma mater.
Michael was never very good talking to people in a higher position or really talking at all. All of
the Investigators questions and assuming lead Michael to get up and run back to his hometown,
Hurt Village. He was beginning to believe all of what Grainger was saying, but when one of his
old homeboys triggers his protective skills by asking if he had ever done anything with Collins
and Leigh Anne, Michael tackled him inside the home causing chaos. He then had a flashback to
when he was young and taken from his mother by the police and fled the scene.

The next day Leigh Anne goes looking for Michael at Hurt Village, and this is when
Sandra Bullocks character really stands out! She asked the homeboys if they have saw Michael,
and he replies that when she finds Michael, hed better sleep with one eye open because he will
get even. This makes Leigh Anne furious and assures him that as what he called a Saturday
night special, was working perfectly fine on every other day of the week. Leigh Anne leaves
Hurt Village, and Michael gives her a call from the Laundromat, asking to be picked up.

Michael finally goes back to Investigator Grainger to tell her that he chose to go to Ole
Miss because that is where his family went. She understands and Michael leaves. When the
day comes that Michael leaves for college, the family piled up into the car to drop him off. Leigh
Anne says her goodbyes and heads back to the car trying to hold back tears. But of course,
Michael needs a proper hug. Leigh Anne gives him the hug and the ending scenes are that of her
narrating that she is thankful that Michael has made it through his rough times. Also the actual
footage of the 2009 NFL draft for the Baltimore Ravens was shown! At the end in writing it also
states that S.J got everything he was promised and was able to run on the field with the team and
the coach at every home game. Collins went on to become a cheerleader for Ole Miss, and as we
all know, Michael became the offensive tackle for the Ravens. Go Ravens! Overall it was a great
movie, it shined light that true friendship and family have no color.
