hat is typical of the game genre: Action Adventure RPG?

First of all RPG stands for Role Play Game which means
that the person playing the game is role-playing as a character, they are not themselves. An action adventure RPG
will often have a narrative, which the player will have to
follow, and often complete tasks or mini games along the way to complete
the story. Action games especially are often followed by bad publicity and
a lot of controversy. An example of an RPG is the game Zelda II: The
adventures of Link. In this game, the character Link must try and wake
his sister Princess Zelda, who has been cast into a deep and unending
sleep; to do so he must complete 6 missions, or mini games. This is typical of this genre as the player will be controlling a character, and completing various missions to reach the end of the game. It also has a very
clear narrative which entices the player into the game, and also connect
with their character. The player becomes immersed in the game and like
many action adventure RPGs, the games can be thought of as addictive.
Typical strictly to action adventure, the missions include enemies who
are fighting against you. What is not so typical is the age rating, anyone
can play this game as there no violence or any other explicit content
Although there is clearly an adventure side to it, the action is extremely
modest and there is no gore or any kind of content like that which may be
deemed inappropriate for certain ages. This game is also low budget, but

LATEST GTA GAME IN COURT OVER DEPICTION

OF TORTURE

Completely opposite to this is a very controversial action adventure game, Grand Theft Auto. The name alone
suggests illegal content and is appropriately rated 18. I have looked at the most recent addition to the series,
GTA V in particular, which was released on the 13th September last year. This game also has a very strong
narrative, the game can be completed by completing missions, but also has an online option and you can
also play without completing missions. The player will choose a character which they can customise to use as
their avatar, the plot of the game includes drug lords mansions being destroyed, mass robberies and revenge.
The format of the game is very typical for an action adventure RPG in the same ways that Zelda II: the adventures of Link is; and although the content may be extreme, it is what most consumers may expect when
looking to buy a game of this genre. There is a lot of action in this game; stealing cars and fighting their owners, speeding these cars to shops, and then robbing these at gunpoint The game is very thrilling and action
filled while still keeping the story and the adventure. It is also typical of these games nowadays, especially on
PlayStation or on Xbox, to have a high age rating as a lot of the action does usually include explicit content.
As well as this, it is not unusual for a game like this to cause controversies In GTA V, the controversies include reviewers of the game complaining about the depiction of torture, where in one mission the player must
select weapons from a table; such as electricity and pliers, to torture a man to get information out of him.

ASSASSINS CREED ONE OF THE GREATEST OR ONE OF THE WORST?

With some games, like Assassins Creed, the title immediately suggests violence and a decent amount of action.
This means that new customers looking for an action game to play, may be drawn to the game. Yet again, the game
is set in a fictional version of historical events, during and after the American Revolution from 1753 to 1783.
The game is played in third person and set in an open world- so as you can see- this is a feature used repeatedly
for action adventure; and possible, as well as some kind of violence, the most recognised feature. In this game
in particular the player controls their character to complete missions using combat, parkour and stealth. Very
typical and repeated actions throughout this genre. As the title suggests, the main character is an assassin, whos
overall mission is to uncover the secrets of a mysterious Precursor Vault that purportedly will protect the Earth
from an upcoming solar flare on December 21, 2012. There is a clear structure to the game and an interesting
and exciting nar-If guns dont kill people -- peoplerative which the

I went into detailsay that video games kill people?on analysing Assassins Creed IV:
black flag. When
you start a new game there is a short film to show the narrative, you then begin the game and are able to move
your character the first task is very simple- this is used to get the player used to the controls. When you complete the first task, the screen shows instructions on how to control the cannons, and explains what to do next.
During gameplay the screen shows a life meter, a map and various controls. It also hints at what to do next. The
game often pauses to show more film. There is a strong narrative and dialog is used by the characters to explain
this. There is background music as well as dialog, the graphics arent great but the images are in a realistic style
and the mouths of the characters move as they talk. There is a lot of detail in the surroundings e.g. in the leaves
and bark of the trees. The player can control the angle of the camera to look around their character which is
viewed in third person. The environment moves around the characters as well which helps the game look more
One parent believes that video games definitely affect kids everyday life, whether consciously or not. They quotedWhen I was a child of maybe 7 or 8, I was fresh off of a game of Duck Hunt on my Nintendo and took my
zapper with me outside, where my father and his friends were sitting. I held up the zapper to one of my dads
good friends and pulled the trigger. Clearly meant with innocent and nave intensions, but just as clearly proving the fantasy life spilling into reality so easily. Someone out there on a social network made a graphic saying,
If guns dont kill people -- people kill people -- then why do people say that video games kill people?
The parent went on to say that an important factor of deciding whether or not you think it appropriate for your child
to be playing violent or otherwise explicit video games, was defining the line between fantasy and reality. She compared
how she refused to let her 4-year-old son play hunting games while in America this would probably be very normal.
