BABYSITTER
AUGUST 2008 SEPTEMBER 2014

I took care of my younger cousin from the time she was three until she was nine; I took care
of her for 4 to 5 hours a day, 6 days a week. I would tutor her in math and reading as well as
accompany her to her tennis and swimming lessons as needed.

ACTIVITIES

Korean Culture Club: August 2013 May 2014: learned about Korean culture through their
entertainment industry (Korean dramas, Korean music, etc.)
Spanish Club: August 2011 May 2012: studied Spanish-speaking nations and their
cultures in order to have a better understanding of the effects the language has on the
people

COMMUNITY
SERVICE

August 2011 present: help band keep music library organized once a week for two hours,
as well as assist in keeping band room clean and ready for rehearsal
August 2011 present: help Winton Middle School band by teaching marching skills and
concert etiquette, as well as tutoring flute/piccolo players in music
October 2014 present: homeroom tutor in all math classes (Math 2 Calculus) 4 days a
week during homeroom for 30 minutes each day

LEADERSHIP

Treasurer of Band: May 2013 May 2014: handled all money turned in by students and kept
records of student accounts; also in charge of fundraisers
President of Band: May 2014 May 2015: help band director with whatever is needed; in
charge of leading meetings, organizing events and keeping the band on task during
rehearsal as well as in competition
First chair flute/section leader: August 2014 May 2015: in charge of the 29-person flute
section; includes teaching music and marching skills as well as keeping students on task
during rehearsal and competition
Co-captain of Academic Decathlon team: March 2014 February 2015: help teach new
subjects to other team members, lead discussions when the coach is unavailable

AWARDS

Seal of Biliteracy: November 2014: proof of fluency in reading, writing and speaking both
English and Spanish
