Lube Oil Drain System

Lube Oil Drain system consists of following sections:


1) Main Engine Drain System
2) Auxiliary Machinery Drain System

Main Engine Drain System


It consists of following drain lines
a) Stuffing box drain:
Lube oil supplied for cylinder liner is passed to stuffing box leak oil drain tank through
stuffing box. Stuffing box lube oil leak tank consist of float switch which indicates level
of tank & also gives alarm once tank is full.
b) Scavenge Manifold:
Oil from scavenge manifold is drained to S.B.O.T through lantern drain trap.
c) Scavenge air box drain:
Oil from scavenge air box is also drained to lantern drain trap. Lantern drain trap is tank
to collect steam condensate mixed with scavenge accumulation. Finally this oil is
drained to S.B.O.T

Auxiliary Machinery Lube Oil Drain System


It consists of following machinery:
a) Main Diesel Generator (3 in nos)
b) Purifier (2 in nos)

Main Diesel Generator


Lube oil from Main Diesel Generator is drained in lube oil drain tank.

Purifier

Lube oil sludge from purifier is drained to lube oil sludge tank.
Lube oil used for purifier lubrication is drained to lube oil drain tank.

Stern Tube Lube Oil Drain System:


Lube oil for stern tube lubrication is drained to lube oil drain tank.
