Objective
I am a recent graduate from the University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelors of
Science in English. I am seeking full-time employment in a position which will allow me
to exercise my creative energies while at the same time using the communication and
writing skills developed while obtaining my degree.

Employment History
Bookie (Customer Service, Retail)
July 2012-Present TxtBookRental, Evansville, IN 47712
While at TXT, my major responsibility has been customer service, which has
included assisting customers as they place their book orders (either over the phone,
online, or in person) answering any inquiries they may have, and ringing up their
orders on the cash register.
During our busiest seasons, TXT experiences high volumes of product. This means
that the responsibilities of the employees shift to shipping and receiving, which must
be done quickly and efficiently and includes creating shipping labels, and packing,
weighing, and storing product until its allotted shipping time.
Inventory within the store can become overwhelming during busy seasons as TXT
purchases used textbooks from students as well as renting them out. High volumes
of product coming in on a daily basis means that the inventory must be sorted,
added to the computer system, and then correctly distributed consistently
throughout the day.

Teachers Aid
May 2010-July 2012, The Learning Center of Posey County, Mount Vernon, IN 47620
While working at The Learning Center I was assigned mostly to the infant room
which included babys ages six weeks to twelve months. It was a demanding
position that required me to be extremely organized and task-oriented.
I helped to create Creative Curriculum for a number of classrooms that integrated
music, art, and physical activity into the daily activities of children aged one year to
twelve years.
I also served in an administrative position as needed, which involved answering the
phone, fielding customer inquiries, and taking and delivering messages throughout
the building. I also checked the children in and out of our attendance system, gave
tours of the building to potential newcomers, and making copies for the classes as
needed.

Customer Service Representative, Retail

May 2009-May 2010 Urban Outfitters, Bloomington IN 47408
I was hired on at Urban Outfitters in the position of Team Leader and assigned to
the Accessories Department, which included jewelry, hats/sunglasses,
belts/hosiery, shoes, and home dcor.
As I was assigned to a specific department, my general responsibilities included
keeping said area clean and organized as well as replenishing stock as needed.
As team leader it was my responsibility to keep other employees on task and
performing duties consistently throughout the day, either in my own department or
through an assignment in another department.
I also continued customer service duties, which included ringing people up at the
cash register, answering any customer inquiries, and helping in the fitting room or
generally within the store.
