METHOD STATEMENT FOR THE INSTALLATION

OF OUTER EDGE CLADDING

Preliminary

Outer edge cladding main frame is fabricated and painted in GSI Fabrication workshop prior to
delivery.
All inspection activities are done with third party inspectors and Main contractor representative
before delivery to site.
All canopies are placed on temporary C-channels for easy and safe lifting to avoid distortions
on the main outer edge cladding.
Each canopy weighs approximately 1.5ton.
The Client to ensures a clear area and that the area is kept clear of anything that may
interfere with the safe installation on site.
Materials are checked off against delivery notes, and any discrepancies advised to the Project
Manager.
Offloading & Site Access
The installation team supervises the unloading of the outer edge cladding by crane in the
designated laydown area.
The edge cladding main frames are then loaded by the truck to the lifting area (Dome). The
edge cladding frame is then unloaded from the truck on a level ground for adjustment of
tackles before lifting to the Dome.
All lifting tackles are inspected prior to lifting to ensure compliance with project HSE
requirements.
Materials are checked off against delivery notes, and any discrepancies advised to the Project
Manager.
Installation
Starting from the Zone 0 SSE 47 the first THREE edge cladding frame will be erected starting
with EC-4 on SSE 47.
1. The outer edge cladding is lifted into position as per approved drawings and bolted to the
outer ring beam.
2. Three supports is placed below the main frame and the Crane released for the next edge
cladding.
3. The survey levels are checked with reference to the design coordinates.
4. If survey coordinates are found acceptable connecting rods are installed.

5. Final inspection is done after painting according to the approved painting specifications.
