Personal Reflection on Leadership Artifact

While attending OCS, we were under constant evaluation. This meant our every action was
being judged for leadership. There came a time during training where these evaluations came
to fruition in the form of a peer review and a command review. These reviews were a very
useful tool in telling me what kind of leader I am. These review illustrated the positive and
negative trends that your peers and command had seen from you during training. I learned
from these reviews that I have a strong leadership style, however at times I can be too
aggressive in my command. This series of reviews allowed me to recognize a negative trend in
my leadership style and I went on to correct that trend. By the time our second series of
reviews came through I had shown a significant improvement in my tact and assertiveness
while still maintaining the strong leadership that I had before. OCS was a great learning
environment and very valuable training when it comes to leadership.
