INTRODUCTION TO CASE STUDY

The precedent study that we have chosen was a 3-storey private bungalow
situated at Shah Alam, Selangor. This bungalow was designed by Architect Ooi and the
construction was completed in year 2010 with a total build-up area of 685.81 square
meters.
As required by the house owner, the ground floor comprises living area, dining area with
open terraces, dry and wet kitchen as well as a well-landscape garden. Besides, there
are 4 bedrooms for family members and guest on the first floor. On the second floor, cozy
master bedroom featuring a multipurpose area for the family to enjoy their free time.
Through the structural studies of selected precedent, the knowledge of building structure
has been developed. This project also allows us to understand modern structural
construction nowadays with a series of analysis and research on the spaces through
drawing, calculating and referencing.
