Dear PERSHING Professionals and Friends:
As the Army Executive Agent for the INF Treaty, I vould like to
welcome you to the final event of the PERSHING II Elimination.
This event marks the end of three decades of professional service
to country end e deep faith in worth of mankind by the PERSHING Team
and their system. These dedicated people; the soldiers, the civil servants,
‘the contractors, and the elected officials have been selfless and tireless.
These people turned their energies into a flawless effort to execute
their roles in compliance with the historic Treaty Between The United
States Of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics On The
Elimination of Their Intermediate-Range And Shorter-Range Missiles.
They are proud to have had a key role in providing for a more stable
world for their families and future generations. The PERSHING professionals,
ty joining with their comterperts from the Union of Soviet Socialist
Republics have mde this happen. This reflects on a total commitment by
oth nations.
* Without the people, the system would not have been
born or served.
* Clearly, they went to the field to keep the peace.
‘° They gave peace a chance.
1 thank each of you here and those in our thoughts for all you did.
You, "PERSHING,"” Gave Peace a Chance . . . "Mission Accomplished." +
