Welded Blade Stabilizer: Flow Couplings

Welded Blade Stabilizer: Flow Couplings
Welded blade stabilizers are designed to mantain stiffness of the drill string in order to
prevent the deflection of the borehole and to ream the drill hole. According to their
position in the drill string the welded blade stabilizers are used as a stabilizers for rockbits and placed just above the bit for borehole reaming. They can also be placed in the
drill string, at different distances from the bit to stabilize the drill collars and drill string.
Landing nipple
This is a receptacle to receive wireline tools. It is also a useful marker for depths in the
well, which can be difficult to accurately determine. Normally it is set close to the end of
the tubing string to be able to isolate the same from the reservoir conditions, at any time
during the producing life of the well.
Flow Couplings
Flow Couplings are heavy wall connectors used in tubing strings and are designed to
minimize the effect of internal erosive action caused by production fluids and gases.
Flow Couplings are located just above or below Landing Nipples, Safety Valves or
Control Devices where turbulent flow problems are likely to occur.
Stewart Tubular Products will manufacture Flow Couplings to any length inch or
metric. Typical lengths are 6. Either API or Premium threaded connections may be
provided. Flow Couplings manufactured by Stewart Tubular Products are available in all
API and proprietary grades of steel, stainless steel and CRA steel.
