LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of course students will be able
1. To show and differentiate various forest types and products from tropical forests of
Malaysia and the regions (C3, A2, CT, PS)
2. To articulate the relationship between forest resource management and uses of
forest and forest products (P1)
3. To understand the current issues pertaining to local and tropical forests of the
regions. (LL, EM)

SYNOPSIS
This course covers basic principles of forest science which includes the importance of
forestry, forest history, forest types, forest industries, forest ecosystem, forest
management, forest goods and services and forestry issues at the local and global
scenarios
