APPLICATION OF LESSON STUDY METHOD

FOR REVISIONS TO TEACHING AND LEARNING EFFORTS


IN REPAIRING OF SOIL MECHANICS-2 STUDYING

Abstract
Lesson Study This study aims to explore the faults / weaknesses in teaching
and learning on Soil Mechanics-2 college in improving the quality of learning in the
course of Soil Mechanics-2. The value of student course Soil Mechanics-2,
Department of Civil Engineering and Planning of Education FT UNY been less-well.
The cause of the low value has not been found. Therefore, it will try to apply the
method to find the source Study lesson cause.
Lesson study involves three lecturers (as a teacher, the others as an observer
and 1 cameraman) and students who are taking Soil Mechanics-2 college in the first
half of 2012 odd weak points can be obtained in the course of learning, and can be a
reflection of & discussions to improve the quality of the next stage of learning in
order to obtain a solution in raising achievement course.
Results of lesson study in college of Soil Mechanics-2 is this : (1)
collaborative partnership among teachers in lesson study proved to be effective to
improve the quality of learning seen from the active and enthusiastic students to
attend college. (2) Fellow teachers more receptive to constructive criticism for the
sake of improving the quality of learning through Lesson Study Reflection mainly
through the discussion stage to obtain the revision and improvement of learning at the
next cycle.
